How often have we come across players asking for the best settings so as to play CS:GO as smoothly as possible. Players do this to get the maximum frame rate possible with the least amount of input lag so that their performance does not suffer, and while we do not expect a pro to face such troubles as they compete at the highest level there is always an exception. It seems BIG’s entry fragger Nils “k1to” Gruhne had no idea until yesterday that he was playing CS:GO with VSync ‘On‘ since forever.

K1to Finds Out He Had Been Playing CS:GO With VSync On

VSync or Vertical Sync is a feature that synchronizing the frame rate of a game to the refresh rate of a monitor when turned ‘On’. While the feature is said to deliver smooth, uninterrupted gameplay for graphics-heavy 3D games, it is not recommended for use when it comes to competitive shooters like CS:GO as it limits the FPS of the game to that of the monitors refresh rate leading to a restricted performance.

The 21-year-old revealed yesterday via a Tweet that he had been playing CS:GO with VSync turned on and only after his teammate Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dortkardes pointed out the problem to him did k1to change the settings.

He further said that the game feels totally different than before and he felt the change instantly as soon as VSync was turned ‘Off’ as “The game feels so much better.” The problem was brought to his attention after XANTARES tried to play on k1to’s PC but he found it impossible to spray properly and that is when he realized that something was definitely wrong.

Many pros reacted to this shocking revelation by the player as they could not believe how it was even possible for him to play at such a high level with that setting. Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund recommended him to continue playing with the same settings and not to switch but it seems that k1to is already practicing with VSync off.

Astralis finally launched their much-hyped new CS:GO jersey today through a live event which was streamed on both YouTube and Twitch. The whole event was segregated into various sections with engaging activities and overall it was put together really well, but the highlight of the event was Astralis teasing a potential trophy giveaway.

Yes, you heard it right and no I am not making this up. The idea which was pitched by Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen during the end of the event has turned into reality as Astralis are giving their BLAST Pro Series: São Paulo 2019 trophy to one lucky fan for 6 months.

Astralis Are Giving Away Their BLAST Trophy For 6 Months

One of the best teams in the world who are four-time Major winners during the ‘Jersey Launch’ event that took place earlier today teased a potential trophy giveaway. During the concluding minutes of the event, dupreeh suggested that along with a jersey maybe they should also giveaway one of their trophies. 

What looked like a joke at first has turned into reality as Astralis have actually announced a giveaway contest for the fans and the prize is that the winner of the giveaway gets to keep their BLAST Pro Series: São Paulo 2019 trophy for a period of six months.

This is a really surprising announcement which is unheard off and at the time when the players had announced it, most of the fans truly felt that it was something that the organization would probably not be comfortable going ahead with. In fact, the suggestion was so bizarre that the hostess of the event was also at a loss of words as she kept asking “Are we doing this? Are we actually doing this?” over-and-over again.

This announcement by the players was followed by Astralis tweeting a mysterious post which read “So….what just happened?” which only added on to the anxiety. This was followed by Astralis turning the rumor into reality which might just be the first of its kind in esports at least.

A day after Duncan “Thorin” Shields heavily criticised the in-game leader of FaZe Clan Nikola “NiKo” Kovac for taking charge of the lineup and also for making multiple questionable roster moves, the 23-year-old entry fragger has responded by refuting his involvement with any roster shuffles that the team has ever made.

He even went on to say that he is open for an interview or a podcast where he can explain “How everything worked out from the moment I joined FaZe Clan,” in order to provide more clarity on the situation as the majority of the community believes that it is NiKo who is calling the shots when it comes to managing the lineup outside of the game.

NiKo Speaks Up About FaZe Clan’s Roster Shuffles 

NiKo is one of the most talented CS:GO player in the world who is often compared to Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, but despite being such a great player he has not been able to perform his best facing harsh criticism by the community. 

The reason for his drop in performance is attributed to him being the in-game leader for FaZe Clan, a position that he is clearly not comfortable with while also hindering him from giving his best. If this was not already enough the majority of the community has now turned against the player for FaZe Clan’s highly questionable player signings and roster shuffles, as they believe that NiKo is the guy calling the shots for FaZe Clan.

Speaking upon the topic NiKo came forward to say that “I can’t believe that most of (the) community thinks that I’m the one who was/is in the charge of all the changes happened in our team.” He went on to say that to give more clarity as to how everything worked out since he joined FaZe Clan “I’m open to do a podcast/interview.”

Various players came in support of NiKo saying that the community has the power to turn speculation into reality and that they know us (the players) better then we know ourselves. The whole truth will only come in front once NiKo has given his side of the story in detail, until then it better to take everything with a pinch of salt.

One thing which is clear as day is that FaZe Clan is facing some serious issues and that NiKo is not fit to be the in-game leader of this lineup. But despite knowing this FaZe does not seem to be too keen on signing a player with enough experience as an IGL and this seems to irk its supporters.

Dignitas has taken the decision to bench both Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund and Richard “Xizt“ Landström after a string of poor performances by the Swedish dominant lineup. The organization in their statement said that the performance by the team has not been up to the mark and “after discussing with all our players, we agreed this is the correct step moving forward.”

The in-game leader of the team Xizt along with one of their riflers GeT_RiGhT has been moved out of the team’s active roster following continued unsatisfactory performances by the team since starting out in late January earlier this year.

This is the first major change being made by the team as they start the search for their two new players. Another announcement is expected from the organization’s side about the direction they take from here on out. They will also be assisting both the player’s transition into the next stage of their respective careers which is not known at the moment.

It was not a decision taken by the management alone, all the players took part in a discussion after which the following decision was taken by the organization. Both the players were in complete agreement with it and openly spoke about how they felt through their Twitter posts.

GeT_RiGhT And Xizt Talk About The Decision

Xizt said that he had not been feeling like himself for a long time now and he will taking some time off to figure out his next steps. Wishing both Dignitas and GeT_RiGhT the best for their road ahead.

GeT_RiGhT shared similar sentiments while stating that he believes the decision taken by Dignitas was the right one and he would be “rooting for them all the way”. He revealed that he had actually been thinking about his future and with his current health condition “It was clear that now was the time to make a change.”

Dignitas overall did not find as much success as they had hoped for, they lost their foothold to compete at top-tier CS:GO tournaments quite early and even failed to achieve results in ‘Tier-2’ competitions forcing Dignitas to make some necessary changes.

There are a lot of ways users make content around Counter-Strike but imagine making something that is both entertaining and also helps the community indirectly. YouTuber ‘ScriptKid’ seems to have cracked this code in a rather unique way as he trolls cheaters in CS:GO by punishing them in satisfying ways using third-party software that appears to be a cheat but in reality, is a program that sabotages their attempts of cheating in-game.

User Trolls Hackers By Punishing Them Using Fake Cheat Software

ScriptKid has found a creative way to deal with cheaters plaguing CS:GO while simultaneously creating fantastic content. The user simply created a third-party software which looks like a cheat but is actually a program meant to sabotage their attempts at cheating by punishing them in various hilarious ways in-game.

This time the YouTuber named his fake cheat ‘Blue Flame v1.0.3’ and uploaded it onto his website from where a lot of users downloaded it for free. They thought that the software was a legit cheat but it was all just a ruse to get users to download it, following which their whole game would be ruined as the software handed these cheaters various hilarious punishments like,

Whenever a user tries to open any door in CS:GO it would not open and instead a knocking sound would play loudly.

• If the cheater tries to fire at an enemy with an AWP or a Scout while scoped-in no bullet would fire and only the sound of the bullet firing would play loudly.
• While the above punishments are permanent and always in-effect, there are some other ‘Trip Wire Punishments’ that are activated only by executing a certain action and even then they have a 50% chance of working. 

‘Trip Wire Punishments’ include one of the following,

• Randomize movement for 20 seconds.
• Extremely slow movements for 20 seconds.
• Temporary mind control, this includes either throwing the weapon out of the map or jumping out of the map (only on Vertigo).

This is not the first time that ‘ScriptKid’ has done something like this as previously he has done the same with cheaters in PUBG twice and once before in CS:GO as well. It is a great reminder to all of us that heroes come in all shapes and sizes!
