SEA Teams T1 and Galaxy Racer Undergo Big Roster Changes

Besides affecting businesses worldwide, the ongoing pandemic has definitely impacted the Dota 2 esports scene as well. The DPC has been halted which has resulted in teams disbanding, players have taken time off professional Dota, there have been multiple roster changes. Players like Meracle, xFreedom, AlaCrity and kYxY have all started moving around in the SEA region as their teams undergo roster shuffles to reinvigorate themselves.

Roster changes in T1

After China, the second region to witness a large number of roster changes is definitely South East Asia. Recently, Sea team T1 had to part ways with their carry player, Meracle and coach, xFreedom while the new entrant into the SEA Dota  2 scene, Galaxy Racer welcomed ex- Reality Rift players AlaCrity and kYxY.

T1 has had players come and go since its inception as a SEA Dota 2 squad in August 2019. Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen had joined the team in May this year. With Meracle in the carry role, T1 finished at 5-6th place in the recently concluded ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia. Despite being one of the most experienced carries in the region, playing for a number of teams, outside SEA as well, Meracle has found it tough to consolidate his place in a stable team.

T1’s coach Nicholas “xFreedom” Kelvin Ileto Lim was a part of the 3-man coaching lineup of the team and has now left the organization.

Hence T1 roster now has only 4 players in the active roster.

  • Muhammad “inYourdreaM” Rizky
  • Samson Solomon “Sam_H” Enojosa Hidalgo
  • Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro
  • Wilson Koh “Poloson” Chin Wei

Galaxy Racer Picks Up Former Reality Rift Players

After testing a couple of players for about 3 months, the Emirati team Galaxy Racer has now signed Lee “kYxY” Kong Yang and Vincent “AlaCrity” Hiew Teck Yoong, both ex-Realify Rift players to complete its Dota roster. Both these players had reasonable success during their tenure with Reality Rift, even qualifying for the Dreamleague S13 Major.

Though there has not been any official announcement, the team’s in-game leader is likely to be Adam Erwann Shah “343” bin Akhtar Hussein, an experienced name in the professional Dota 2 scene.

Final Galaxy Racer’s Roster from position 1 to 5:

  1.  Vincent “AlaCrity” Hiew Teck Yoong

  2.  Lee “kYxY” Kong Yang

  3.  Daniel “Ghost” Chan

  4.  Adrian “Destrice” Eng

  5.  Adam “343” Hussein

Arcana Vote Results to release on 9th October

Earlier today, Valve finally broke the silence regarding the Immortal Treasure 3, releasing it with a couple of other changes to the Battle Pass. The Dota 2 fan community on Twitter and Reddit had made Valve a laughing stock while others were livid with the delays in the release of the Immortal Treasure 3. The community and the players have been annoyed with Valve as they have failed to answer questions regarding the Battlepass, official Valve tournaments, etc in a convincing manner. Amongst all these ups and downs, one of the only things that still is keeping everyone engrossed is the Arcana Vote Result.

Road to Grand Finals of Arcana Vote TI10

Which “Purple Melee carry” is winning the Arcana Vote Finals?

Earlier today, Valve released the Immortal Treasure 3 and extended the TI10 Battle Pass by 3 weeks. In addition, Valve also stated that the Arcana vote results will also be revealed when the Battle Pass expires.

Valve tried teasing the community by stating “hint: it’s a purple melee carry that can cross distances with ease”. As we all know, it is the battle of the ultimate late game carries Spectre and Faceless Void in the Arcana vote grand finals. With both heroes matching Valve’s description, it is clear that they’re just memeing with that statement.

Since the inception of Arcana Vote, there has always been a badass competition between the final 2 heroes. Phantom Assassin was the first hero to win the Arcana vote in 2014 followed by Zeus in 2016, Juggernaut, Pudge, Rubick and Ogre Magi in subsequent years.

Juggernaut Arcana

This is Faceless Void’s second entry into the Arcana vote finals, the first being in 2018 where he lost to Rubick after the latter won by a tiny margin of 2%. Queen of Pain and Windranger stood 2nd in 2015 and 2019 respectively but they received an Arcana item as an exclusive reward in the ongoing The International 2020 Battle Pass. So if Faceless Void loses this year as well, we may see Valve release his Arcana next year.

Spectre is the new entrant to this annual final contest and is sure to give her counterpart a strong shot. A loregasm video dedicated to Spectre by Jake “SirActionSlacks” Kanner speculates Spectre to be the Phantom Assassin of the future.

Usually Arcana releases expand the lore of the heroes with extra voicelines by giving various hints to their origins and their background. So fans are understandably excited to see whether SirActionSlacks prophecy comes true.

So, mark your calendars for the 9th of October as the battle of the best is about to culminate.
