ESL One Malaysia 2022 Will Return LAN Action to SEA Before TI11
ESL is attempting to give Southeast Asian (SEA) fans a taste of LAN action before The International 2022, with ESL One Malaysia 2022. The tournament is scheduled to take place between the end of the Dota Pro Circuit’s regular season (PGL Arlington Major 2022) and before the Last Chance Qualifier for The International 2022 kicks off.
ESL One Malaysia will take place between from August 23-28 in the Arena of Stars in the Genting Highlands, Malaysia and will feature a $400K USD prize pool. 12 teams will be competing at the event, with ESL directly inviting six teams, while six others will attempt to qualify for the event through the qualifiers for each region.

The ESL One Malaysia 2022 will become the first international SEA Dota 2 LAN event of this caliber to feature spectators since The Kuala Lumpur Major in 2018. With The International 11 also right around the corner, SEA fans are getting a lot of love from the Dota 2 tournament organizers in recent months. It will be interesting to see if the crowd lives up to the expectations when the tournaments take place in the region.
Since it is likely that this will be the last stop for international teams before the qualifiers for The International 2022 kick off, the competition is expected to be fierce, as teams try to sharpen their fangs ahead of the bloodbath that will await them, following the conclusion of the event.
