Apex Legends Crossplay: How to Play with Your Friends from Other Platforms

Apex Legends’ crossplay was added to the game back in Season 7 in its beta stages but the feature is much closer to a stable release and it works without issues. Crossplay is available between PC (Origin and Steam), PS4/PS5, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It is unlikely that mobile players will also be able to join other platforms when Apex Legends Mobile is available. Apex Legends’ Crossplay is enabled by default for all players and you can disable it from the main menu if you want. Here is everything you need to know about Apex Legends Crossplay including how to set it up, how it works, and more.

Should I Enable Apex Legends Crossplay?

There is a lot of debate around aim assist and DDOSing in Apex Legends due to crossplay. Respawn Entertainment revealed recently that it took some measures to prevent DDOSing.

A lot of content creators and streamers have been complaining about cross-play and how it leads to console DDOSers crashing lobbies. With a fix in place, DDOSing should no longer be a problem.

However, the aim assist is a hotly debated topic where PC players do not like the idea of console players competing in the same matches with aim assist on their side. You can turn off crossplay if you do not want to have console players in the same lobbies as you. However, it can lead to an increase in matchmaking time especially if you are playing at higher ranks. Cross-play has led to shorter queue times for players in Diamond and above and it is recommended to leave it on.
