Rebirth Island Warzone Overview

The Rebirth Island map is based on an illicit Soviet base. According to the game’s lore, the place was raided and shut down by the CIA in 1968, during which Operator Russell Adler caught and forcefully interrogated the base commander Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin. The island was rebuilt and recommissioned by Stitch in 1984 with one purpose: the creation and testing of the deadly Nova 6 gas. Warzone players get to experience a more hardcore version of the classic battle royale mode with no Gulags on the Rebirth Island map.

What Does “Revived” Mean in Rebirth Island Warzone?

There are no Gulags in Rebirth Island Warzone. You won’t need to fight another player to make it back into the match. Instead, the mode is all about wiping an entire squad before their teammates can respawn and parachute onto the map. If you die in Rebirth Island Warzone, a 20-second timer starts ticking and if your teammates are killed before the timer runs out, you do not get to respawn. However, if at least one of your teammates is alive, you get a “Revived” prompt on your screen and you get to redeploy close to your teammates on the map.

If you want to take out an enemy team, you will have to finish all members before the timer runs out, else you will have to deal with repeated respawns.

Is Rebirth Island Free to Play?

All Warzone players have access to Rebirth Island for free. If you are unable to access the map from Call of Duty: Cold War, you simply need to launch Warzone to play the mode. Rebirth Island does feature a new Gulag but it is available only during specific game modes.

Are Stats Tracked in Rebirth Island Warzone?

Rebirth Island’s stats are not tracked as it does not count as a traditional battle royale mode. Your K/D ratio and win rate are not affected regardless of your performance in the game mode. However, you earn nearly the same amount of XP and completing Reticle and Camo challenges is possible within the mode.
