Warriors from Ionia are known as Ionian Champions in League of Legends: Wild Rift, according to the game’s lore. Ionia is usually inhabited by people who are seeking peace and harmony. Everything changed, however, when Darius and the Noxian Army invaded, causing chaos and disruption in the region. Many forms of dark arts have started emerging in the Ionian region, and the Noxian army has become a source of unquenchable hatred. Ionian Champions have since emerged determined to overthrow the Noxus empire and reclaim their homeland.

What is Ionia in Wild Rift

As a region surrounded by massive bodies of water, Ionia is comprised of a number of allied provinces spread across the First Lands, a collection of massive islands.

Ahri is a Vastayan champion who has ties with Ionia. She enjoys toying with her prey by manipulating their emotions before devouring their life essence.


Akali is one of the Ionian champions in Wild Rift that is skilled in ninja arts. After abandoning her clan along with her title of the Fist of Shadow, she has pledged to defend Ionia from its enemies, one kill at a time.

Master Yi

Master Yi only uses violence as a last resort. And when he does, the grace and speed of his blade ensure resolution is always swift. As one of the last living practitioners of the Ionian art of Wuju, Yi has devoted his life to continuing the legacy of his people


Rakan is one of the Ionian champions in Wild Rift that are vastayan. He is a troublemaker and the greatest battle dancer in the land. He is also the partner of the rebel Xayah.
