TNC Predator Qualifies for the AniMajor While Fnatic Will Play Tiebreakers in the SEA DPC

TNC Predator has become the first SEA team to book a slot in the second Major of the season, the WePlay AniMajor. The Filipino team emerged stronger in yet another series in the SEA 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division as they managed to outclass arch-rivals Fnatic. While TNC Predator let the first game slip away despite having secured a mammoth lead, the team did not let the loss affect them as they went on to win games two and three to take the series 2-1. This is a consequential series win for TNC Predator as they secure at least 300 DPC points for themselves and have given themselves a good shot at claiming a Direct Invite to TI10. On the other hand, Fnatic’s individual performances once again looked wobbly and they will now look to come back later this week when they play the tiebreakers to try and secure a spot at the AniMajor.

TNC Predator vs Fnatic: Match Recap and Highlights

Game 1 saw TNC coming considerably ahead in the laning phase as they looked to be cruising to victory at one point. But, a lost teamfight during an attempt to take Fnatic’s bottom barracks proved costly. TNC’s unorthodox draft that had a safe lane Dragon Knight and a mid Shadow Fiend did not eventually pay off as Fnatic played cautiously to end the game in 49 minutes.

Game 2 was another competitive game as it was evenly poised even at the 30-minute mark. However, Raven was the lone wolf for Fnatic as both ChYuan and Moon had considerably fallen in networth. TNC, with Armel stealing the show on his mid puck, played the teamfights incredibly well and severely punished enemy mistakes to win the second game in 47 minutes.

Game 3 saw stable drafts coming in from both sides but TNC were spot on their performances this time. All their players had amazing positioning and showcased splendid spellcasting, as they outplayed their enemies in every department to take the third game in 34 minutes.

Here are some highlights of the series.

While TNC is now guaranteed to travel to Kyiv, Ukraine, for the WePlay AniMajor, it remains to be decided if they will play in the playoffs or the group stages. If T1 secures a victory over OB.Neon on May 20, 2021, TNC will brawl against T1 in the first-second place tiebreaker for the playoffs spot at the Major.

On the other hand, Fnatic is now tied with Execration at the third spot with four wins and three losses. So, tiebreakers galore as things certainly look spicy in the SEA 2021 DPC Season 2: Upper Division.
