Astralis star player Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz while expressing his concern over the team’s individual performance not being up to the mark, came forward to say that “some things might change,” pointing towards a possible roster shuffle being implemented by the Danish organization for the upcoming BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2021. Speaking specifically about Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen, dev1ce expects him to play “at least a few games” at the BLAST tournament. Though he specified that the final decision ultimately lies with Astralis Coach – Danny “zonic” Sørensen and the organization. The Danish AWPer presented his thoughts concerning the team’s string of mediocre performances and probable roster shuffle, in an interview with HLTV.

Dev1ce on possibility of Astralis CS:GO roster shuffle

Astralis has found it extremely challenging to achieve a top-four finish in recent CS:GO tournaments, as CIS-based teams and organizations storm the online competitive circuit. They were recently handed back-to-back ‘2-0’ defeats by Gambit Esports and FURIA in the playoffs stage of ESL Pro League Season 13, attaining a 5th-6th finish at the event.

After a solid start to the year, which witnessed Astralis take a runners-up position at BLAST Premier: Global Final 2020, it has been nothing but a downward spiral for the world-class team. Astralis has now failed to make it into the top-four across 3 consecutive top-tier CS:GO tournaments, raising concerns surrounding the team’s inconsistent individual performances and talks about a possible shuffle.

Commenting on the same, dev1ce in a recent interview with HLTV stated that,

“I think that the individual level is not there consistently for us and that is why we get bullied and lose big games. Fundamentally, we are doing things very well. But CS is a game of who kills the other guy first, so if you are not able to do that you will obviously get punished.”

Though Astralis finished on top of their group at ESL Pro League Season 13, dev1ce pointed out that they were not in their best shape. Which became quite evident in the playoffs, where they were handed defeats by a ‘16-7’, ‘16-2’ scoreline. He went on to express his thoughts about Astralis’ preparation for the upcoming first European RMR tournament – Flashpoint Season 3 as well, speaking about the possibility of a roster shuffle.

“Everything comes down to zonic, who is the leader of the roster. I would say that it is to expect that some things might change. I am at least thinking that he (Bubzkji) is going to play a few games (BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2021), right?

It is for the organization and Danny (zonic) to figure out how Astralis is going to be the strongest team against OG and then against the next team, and take it day by day. I think that it is completely plausible that some things will happen.”

Astralis will be going up against OG today at the BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2021. It will be interesting to see how the team performs and what kind of a lineup do they step out with. The coming time is going to be quite challenging for the Danish roster, with their aim being to perform well at Flashpoint Season 3.
