Legend Tokens in Apex Legends is the only in-game currency that you really need to unlock all non-cosmetic content. Crafting materials are for skins while Apex Coins are meant for purchasing the battle pass, packs and cosmetics. If you boot up Apex Legends, Legend tokens do not show up in the main menu and you have to hover on the two other currencies to see how many tokens you have. There are four currencies including Legend Tokens in Apex Legends. It is the only truly free currency in the game and it lets you unlock new Legends and also get recoloured variants of cosmetics. You can also use them to re-roll daily quests but we do not recommend doing so unless you already have all the Legends available in your account.

Legend Tokens are denoted with the red and white L symbol and you can check how many Legend tokens in Apex Legends you have by hovering on the top right currencies displayed in the lobby. By default, the game shows you only the Apex Coins and Crafting materials and you need to manually check the tokens from this hidden menu.

If you are wondering how to get Legend Tokens in Apex Legends in 2021, the short answer is – playtime. You have to play the game and each time you level up, you will earn 600 tokens. It would take you 20 level ups to get access to 12000 tokens, which is the price of one Legend. It does not take very long if you play with friends as there is a squad bonus available when playing with friends.

Higher ranks in matches and winning can offer you a huge chunk of XP so trying to win is definitely recommended if you want to level up fast. There are also double XP weekends which are announced by Respawn Entertainment if you want to level up fast and unlock all the missing Legends on your account quickly. While you can use Legend Tokens in Apex Legends to re-roll quests and unlock cosmetic variants, try not doing so if you do not have every Legend unlocked already.
