Oceanic Esports League Announces $17,500 AUD OEDL Fall Invitational

Oceanic Esports League has announced the Oceanic Esports Dota League (OEDL) Fall Invitational, a Dota 2 tournament that “pits some of Southeast Asia’s best representatives against the top four teams of the Oceanic Esports Dota League Season 3.” The tournament is scheduled from April 27 – May 15, 2021, however, the SEA qualifiers will begin from April 17 and run until April 19. Six teams from the SEA 2021 DPC Season 1: Lower Division will also be seen competing in the closed qualifier to stand a chance to reach the $17,500 AUD (6,57,544 PHP) tournament. OEDL Fall Invitational – Full Details

The OEDL Fall Invitational is the first inter-region tournament involving SEA and Oceania that is being conducted by the Oceanic Esports League.

“We are looking forward to breaking a new ground with the OEDL Fall Invitational.” Justin “xMusiCa” Yuen, Co-Founder and CEO of the Oceanic Esports League, said.

“The success of the Oceanic Esports Dota League is a testament to the region’s talent. With the upcoming inter-regional tournament, we seek to further fulfill our mission of giving Oceania’s finest a battleground to continue honing their skills.”

Oceanic Esports Dota League Season 3 is currently ongoing and will continue until April 24, 2021. The OEDL Fall Invitational will then kickstart with its group stage on March 27.

However, the open and closed qualifier for SEA teams will be held from April 17 – 19, 2021.

Open Qualifier (April 17, 18)

  • BO1 single-elimination bracket
  • The top two teams (one each from the two open qualifiers) will be promoted to the closed qualifier

Closed Qualifier (April 19)

  • Two teams from the open qualifiers
  • Six invited teams from the SEA 2021 DPC Season 1: Lower Division
  • BO2 single round-robin format
  • The top four teams qualify for the group stage

Group Stage (beginning April 28)

  • Top four Oceania teams from the OEDL Season 3
  • Top four SEA teams from the closed qualifier
  • BO2 single round-robin format
  • The top six teams qualify for the double-elimination playoffs. (Playoffs begin on May 12, 2021)

To promote and preserve the quality of competition, eligibility for the OEDL Fall Invitational closed qualifier direct invitation and open qualifier registration will only be open for the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season 1 – Southeast Asia Lower Division teams and below.
