After 18 months playing under the CIS banner of Team Spirit, Alexander “DkPhobos” Kucherya has taken his leave from the organization.

The International 8 is just around the corner now and some of the teams and players are starting to reorganize themselves ahead of the traditional post TI shuffle. Team Empire has already dropped to three, The Final Tribe is down by one and Let’s Do It have already announced when they were dropped from sponsor Kinguin that they would most likely part ways from each other.

Now, after a solid performance in the CIS region and a few appearances in the DPC this last season, Team Spirit is starting their own shuffle. Long-term member Alexander “DkPhobos” Kucherya will no longer be part of the roster for the new season. He and Artsiom “fng” Barshack joined the CIS organization in December of 2016.

We are grateful to Alexander for these eighteen months that he spent under the flag of our organization. It can be unequivocally said that this man made a huge contribution to every our victory. On behalf of the whole club, we wish him health and good luck.”

While the team was a constant fixture in the CIS regional qualifiers, often coming in as top 3, their performances at the DPC LAN events were disappointing. Typically the team was unable to advance from the group stage, although they were able to secure third place at the ex-DPC event, Galaxy Battles II. A third-place finish at the TI8 CIS qualifiers rounded out their season.

The team is expected to be playing in some of the smaller online events between now and the new season as they try out new players for the roster.
